Product Designer (UX/UI)

Full-time
Remote
June 17, 2025

About the Role

We’re looking for a mid-level Product Designer (UX/UI) to join our mission-driven, fast-moving team at Appt Health. As we scale our platform across the NHS, you’ll play a central role in designing inclusive, impactful digital experiences that make it easier for patients—especially those underserved by the system—to access preventive care.

This is a hands-on role that combines user research, product design, and UI/UX craft. You'll work closely with engineers and delivery teams to bring new features to life from concept to launch.

Why join us?

Appt Health is a social enterprise using behavioural science, inclusive design, and smart automation to increase uptake in preventive care. We’ve delivered national innovation pilots, secured R&D funding from Innovate UK & SBRI, and recently launched a new cancer screening project with NHS partners. Our work has been recognised three times by the UK government for its social impact.

We’ve already built a product that integrates directly into NHS systems and is used by GP practices. Now we’re scaling at a rapid speed.

If you want to solve hard problems and design meaningful digital experiences that actually improve people’s health, we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll do

  • Translate research, user needs, and journey maps into intuitive, accessible interfaces
  • Lead end-to-end design processes: from discovery and ideation to wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and developer handoff
  • Conduct your own user research with practice staff, patients, and underserved groups
  •  Simplify complex workflows into clear and engaging product flows
  • Work closely with developers to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Help evolve our design system and advocate for consistency and accessibility
  • Share your design thinking and take on feedback with curiosity and care

What we’re looking for

  • 2–4 years' experience in digital product design, ideally in SaaS
  • Experience working on products with real users(especially in healthcare or gov tech a plus)
  • Strong UX, UI and interaction design skills — you care about both form and function
  • Fluent in Figma, and confident managing shared design systems
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and structuring your own work
  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
  • A drive to design for inclusion, simplicity, and impact

What you’ll get

  •  £40,000-45,000 salary (dependent on experience)
  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays + 4 annual"duvet days"
  • Flexible, remote-first working (with optional coworking meetups)
  • A supportive, mission-led team that values learning, autonomy and creativity
  • The chance to make a real impact on health inequalities in the UK

Don’t meet every requirement?

That’s okay. We know that no one ticks every box — especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. If this role excites you, but you’re not sure you meet every point, please reach out anyway. We’d love to hear from you.
