Appt Health now integrates with the NHS App
Appt Health’s latest release introduces full integration with the NHS App and NHS email booking channels. Practices, PCNs and federations using Appt Health can now connect these trusted NHS booking routes directly into their existing workflows, adding new digital and cost-effective channels to our portfolio of patient engagement strategies.
Why this matters
With more than 33 million NHS App users and a clear strategic emphasis on positioning the NHS App as the digital front door to healthcare, this integration opens a new way to reach patients where they are and in the way they prefer to be engaged.
It is also a natural step forward in Appt Health’s mission to innovate in how patients are reached, increasing uptake of preventive and proactive healthcare while reducing barriers to access.
How it works
For practice staff
For practices using both EMIS and SystmOne, setting up is simple. The new NHS App and NHS email round types will appear automatically in your Appt Health platform. You can then select them as part of your multi-channel patient engagement workflows, combining them with SMS, letter, or call reminders, all managed through a single dashboard.
For patients
Patients receive an invitation from the NHS App or via an NHS-branded email offering them a direct appointment booking link. They simply:
- Click the booking link.
- Verify their identity using their date of birth.
- Choose their preferred appointment slot.
- Receive a booking confirmation for their booked appointment.
This seamless process connects to the patient’s GP record, ensuring every booking is accurately tracked and securely managed.
