Appt Health Joins the Grow Digital Health Midlands Programme

We’re very excited to share that Appt Health has been selected as one of just nine companies to join the first cohort of the Grow Digital Health Midlands programme.

This new initiative, delivered by Health Innovation West Midlands in partnership with the Midlands Engine, is designed to accelerate the adoption of high-impact digital health innovations across the region. The programme supports companies with products that are already delivering value to patients and the NHS, helping them to scale further and faster — with a particular focus on solutions that align with local health priorities.

We’re proud to have been chosen for our AI-powered multimorbidity care service, which is designed to improve outcomes for patients living with multiple long-term conditions — a group that currently makes up over 25% of the UK population.

Managing multimorbidity is one of the most complex challenges facing the NHS. Care is often fragmented, with patients receiving separate appointments and communications for each condition. This leads to poor engagement, missed opportunities, and increased pressure on clinicians.

Our platform takes a different approach. It reviews medical histories to identify outstanding care needs across multiple conditions, consolidates invitations into a single, personalised communication, and helps patients access preventive care in a more joined-up and accessible way. By using behaviourally informed messaging and system integration with EMIS and SystmOne, our service streamlines the entire patient engagement process.

Through the Grow Digital Health Midlands programme, we’ll receive tailored support over the next six months to:

  • Build relationships with NHS stakeholders in the Midlands
  • Test and adapt our service to meet local population needs
  • Refine our commercial model and implementation approach
  • Learn from other innovative companies facing similar challenges

We’re hugely grateful to the team at Health Innovation West Midlands for recognising the potential of our work — and we’re excited to collaborate with them, local NHS partners, and our fellow innovators in the first cohort.

We’ll be sharing updates as the programme progresses — watch this space.
